Instructors: Brett Davis and Klint Brown
This course is being offered to riders of any level and age. It is designed to make riders aware of dangerous situations on the trail and how to handle those situations and defend themselves. Unfortunately, the world we live in is changing and it is imperative that riders understand what to do to protect themselves and stay out of harm’s way. Not only will this clinic cover the self-defense side, but it will also cover several other areas as mentioned above.
Trail Riding Self Defense
· Awareness of your surroundings
· Preparing yourself and your horse for the unthinkable
· Learn to be pro-active not re-active
· Positioning your horse for the defense
· Fight to survive the attack
Survival at All Cost
· Makeshift weapons and how to make use of resources
· Standard weapon applications
Safety on The Trail
· Doing your homework
· Ride preparation
· Trail boss and trail caboose
First Aid, Search and Rescue
· Basic first aid and CPR
· Rider lost and rider down
· Prepare for the long haul
This clinic was designed by Brett Davis and Klint Brown to provide riders with the knowledge to protect themselves and remain safe while out on the trail. Brett and Klint are both veteran law enforcement officers in Johnson County Indiana. Both are members of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit and will be offering their knowledge and experience on several topics throughout this 4-hour course. Brett and Klint are both veteran certified instructors at their departments along with several years of trail riding and horsemanship experience.
