WEEKEND INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS

Weekends at Spring Mill State Park are never boring! This beautiful park has so much to offer, with the historic Pioneer Village, 9+ miles of hiking, a beautiful lodge & a lake for fishing and kayaking with your friends.

Saturday, April 10th

9am-12pm:  Weed Wrangle Indiana® Event –Garlic Mustard Pull –  Join Spring Mill State Park in partnership with KIC (Lawrence County Keep Invasives In Check) and Friends of Spring Mill State Park at 9am by the Pool parking lot.  Learn to identify some invasive plants.  You’ll be given a map and bags to set off and pull garlic mustard.  At 11am, go to Pioneer Village parking lot and walk to the building near the restrooms to have your bag(s) weighed and receive a ticket for a free lunch provided by the Friends of Spring Mill State Park.  Lunch served from 11:15-12pm for participants only.  Bring your group to help Spring Mill become a healthier habitat for all wildlife.  Heaviest weighted bag(s) by an individual (not group) wins a 2021 Indiana State Park Pass.  Registration allows us prepare enough food for everyone who participates. Day-of volunteers are very welcome, but registered attendees will receive food first.  Please register before April 6th by contacting Sheree at sbelt@dnr.in.gov.

Sunday, April 11th

10am:  National Walk Week Volkswalk – Meet at Spring Mill Inn to choose between two guided hikes – A 10K (6.2 miles) OR a 5K (3.1 miles).  Hikes led by Bedford Hiking Club members.

1pm:  National Walk Week Trail 3 Hike – Enjoy a guided hike on trail 3.  Meet at Twin Caves parking lot.  2.5 miles.  1.75 hours.

PARK ENTRY FEE MAY APPLY
$5 FOR INDIANA RESIDENTS
$7 FOR OUT-OF-STATE RESIDENTS
