Weekend Programs at Spring Mill State Park

WEEKEND INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS

Every day at Spring Mill State Park is a fun day! Join us this weekend for some interesting interpretive programs brought to you by the park naturalists.

FRIDAY | OCTOBER 1
4 PM – Saving the “Snot Otter” – Meet Naturalist Morgan to learn about Indiana’s biggest salamander the Hellbender, also known as the “snot otter” Create some slime to take home. Lakeview Activity Center – back patio. 20 minutes.

SATURDAY | OCTOBER 2
11 AM – Snake Talk – Meet Morgan at the Lakeview Activity Center Amphitheater to learn about snakes of Indiana.. 30 minutes.

2 PM – CCC History Stroll – Meet Carol and Paul at the lamp post after the bridge near the village parking lot to discover the efforts of FDR’s “Tree Army”  in the 1930’s continues to impact Spring Mill today. 45 minutes. Easy Hiking.

SUNDAY | OCTOBER 3
11 AM – Nature Preserve Hike – Meet Naturalist Emilie at Twin Caves’ parking lot for a rugged hike through three nature preserves on Trail 3. Learn about our caves of old growth forest and wildlife along the way. 2.5 miles. 1.5 hours.
