Weekends at Spring Mill State Park are never boring! This beautiful park has so much to offer, with the historic Pioneer Village, 9+ miles of hiking, a beautiful lodge & a lake for fishing and kayaking with your friends.
Saturday, March 27th
1pm-4pm: Fish Printing (gyotaku) Workshop: Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese form of art that fisherman used over 100 years ago to keep a record of the fish that they caught. Reserve a time slot on the hour between 1pm-4pm to come learn a little about the history behind this art while also finding out what is swimming in Spring Mill lake today. Make your own fish print using our paper or bring your own piece of cloth such as a pillow case, handkerchief, etc. (something that won’t get washed often) 40 minutes. Only one family/friend group or individual per time slot. Masks required. Call 812-849-3534 or email Sheree at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your time slot. $2 per person.
8pm: Full Moon Hike – Join Anthony at Spring Mill Inn front patio for a brisk moon lit night hike and learn why the March full moon is called the “Full Worm Moon”. Rugged Hike on Trail 3, 2.5 miles
Sunday, March 28th
1pm: Cave River Valley Hike – Meet at Donaldson Cave parking lot to follow your guide 15 miles to Cave River Valley Natural Area. Wear waterproof boots. Very Rugged. 2 hours.
