WEEKEND INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS
Weekends at Spring Mill State Park are never boring! This beautiful park has so much to offer, with the historic Pioneer Village, 9+ miles of hiking, a beautiful lodge & a lake for fishing and kayaking with your friends.
This Sunday is FREE admission into the park and FREE fishing day!
Saturday, May 1st
10am: Bluebird Nesting Box Monitoring Hike – Meet Naturalist Sheree at Oak Ridge Shelter to walk with her while she monitors nesting boxes. Learn about the different native cavity nesters and the pests and predators that threaten their nests. 30 minutes.
11am: Snake Talk – Have you met our resident reptiles? Join Naturalist Emilie at the amphitheater by the Lakeview Activity Center to learn about snakes of Indiana and meet two of our resident snakes. 30 minutes
4pm: Hamer Cemetery Tour – Take a step back into time with a 30 minute tour of our Pioneer Cemetery. Explore the mystery of some unmarked graves. Meet at Hamer Cemetery.
Sunday, May 2nd
FREE PARK ENTRY AND FREE FISHING DAY!
On Free Fishing Days, Indiana residents do not need a fishing license or a trout/salmon stamp to fish the state’s public waters. All other rules such as seasons, bag and size limits apply. CLICK HERE to learn more.
1pm: Lake Hike – Meet Naturalist Emilie at the Lakeview Activity Center for a hike around the lake. Learn all about the flora and fauna that live in and around the lake. 1 mile. Partially rugged. 50 minutes.
