Join us this weekend as we honor the legacy of Lawrence County's hometown hero, astronaut Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom. Born and raised in Mitchell, Indiana, Grissom went on to become one of the first Americans to fly into space. The 3rd Annual Cement City Cruise-In will be at the Lehigh Field in Mitchell, Indiana on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 9am-3pm. (Rain dates: July 27) To Register Vehicles/Vendors and Swap Meet: Pre-register by June 1 and receive a free t-shirt. Goodie bags to the first 150 registered. Cash prizes for registered vehicles. Join us Tuesday evening, July 23rd, to stroll Zahn Historic District and learn about some of Bedford's oldest homes. The neighborhood includes modest homes from the 1800's, limestone sidewalks and retaining walls, some grand homes, and Bedford's oldest stone church.
