The 56th anniversary of the Apollo One disaster and the death of Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, Roger Chaffee and Ed White will be Friday, Jan. 27. Gather at the Grissom Boyhood Home at 6:00 pm. A short program will commence at 6:15 pm, leading up to the time of the disaster. A moment of silence will close the program.

WINTER TREE ID WORKSHOP Spring Mill State Park offers activities all-year-round! Foresters, hosted by the White River Forestry Committee ,will discuss common trees in southern IN with photos, twigs, acorns or nuts for each. They will help you identify trees in winter without the benefit of leaves using form, twigs, bark and branching character. A second outdoor session will be held 9AM -12 on Saturday, Feb. 18th when everything learned is pulled together as those attending are able to identify trees…

CIVIL WAR REENACTMENT Reenactors, dressed in confederate and union clothing, flood the Pioneer Village at Spring Mill State Park to demonstrate a battle in the Civil War. Visitors will be able to hear the gun fire, smell the cannon smoke and get a small glimpse of what life was like in the Civil War days.
