WEEKEND PROGRAMS

Spring Mill State Park offers fun activities all-year-round for individuals of all ages! Hiking, biking and enjoying the historic Pioneer Village and the beautiful nature of the park is always available, but here are a few extra things that you may want to check out this weekend:

Saturday, February 4th
1pm: Winter Seed Sowing: Prepare your seeds this winter for spring. Learn how to care for your seeds during this dormant season. Make your own mini greenhouses. $2 per person. Provided: One gallon milk jug (clear or translucent only) & native wildflower seeds. Limited space. Advanced registration required. 1 hour. Lakeview Activity Center. Bring up to four of your own milk jugs to plant even more native seeds!
3:30pm: Cave River Valley Hike – Come explore this beautiful, primitive property managed by Spring Mill. Meet the naturalist at Donaldson Cave parking lot to follow her in your car 15 miles to Cave River Valley (CRV). If you are going to meet her at Cave River Valley, you must call and let her know in advance. If no one shows at Donaldson Cave parking lot at 1pm she will not go to CRV unless she knows someone is there waiting for her. 2 hour hike. Very Rugged. Water-proof/rubber boots highly recommended. Walking sticks are handy. Hiking the east side of the property this month.
8pm: Full Moon Hike – Meet your guide Anthony at the Lakeview Activity Center front for a fun nighttime hike and learn about February’s Full Snow Moon. 1 mile. Partially rugged. 1 hour.
