August can be one of the hottest months of the year. What better way to cool off than with ice cream?! Worth the drive, Lawrence County has two nostalgic places for frosty delights! Each has its own vibe and menu, so try them both. Here’s the scoop!
Dairy Bell – Mitchell
Take a step back in time at the Dairy Bell. This 1960s ice cream shop and restaurant will bring back memories and create new ones! Chill out with ice cream cones, a banana split, sundaes, milk shakes, malts, a chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich or a classic root beer or Coke float. There’s plenty of shady seating so you can eat your treat there.
If you are looking for lunch, the sandwich menu includes chicken salad, sloppy joe, pulled pork, hot dogs and corn dogs.
Too hot to cook dinner? No problem! Everyday, there is a new dinner special. These range from grilled pork chops, cheesy potatoes, green beans and a roll to homemade eggrolls and fried rice. Check the Facebook page for the daily specials.
Dairy Bell is perfectly located right outside the Spring Mill State Park entrance at 2427 Highway 60 E, Mitchell.
