WEEKEND INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS
Weekends at Spring Mill State Park are never boring! This beautiful park has so much to offer, with the historic Pioneer Village, 9+ miles of hiking, a beautiful lodge & a lake for fishing and kayaking with your friends.
Friday, September 10th
10am: Turtle Feeding- Frenzy-Come watch the Naturalist feed our resident turtles and learn a bit about their diets. Lakeview Activity Center. 15 Minutes.
Saturday, September 11th
1pm: Twin & Bronson Cave Hike – Join Chris for an interesting visual description of this beautiful natural area. Twin Caves’ parking lot. 30 minutes. Moderate hike with stairs.
3pm: Leaf Print Painting– Join Emilie at the Lakeview Activity Center to learn about trees of Indiana. Create a masterpiece using the leaves from trees and other natural mediums. 45 minutes
Sunday, September 12th
1pm: Donaldson Woods Virgin Timber Hike – Meet Chris at Twin Caves parking lot to view impressive trees that are 300-400 years old. Learn about the historical background of this nature preserve. 30 minutes. Moderate hike, ¼ mile.
2pm: Hamer Cemetery Tour – Join Emilie at Hamer Cemetery to learn about the history of the Pioneer Village and some original settlers. 25 minutes.
