CAVE WEEKEND
Celebrate Cave Weekend at Spring Mill State Park. Multiple cave tours and programs will be held this weekend. See the schedule below!
Friday, June 4th
4pm: Stalactites Vs. Stalagmites – Join Naturalist Morgan to discover what stalactites and stalagmites are and how they form. You will leave with instructions on how to make your own at home! Lakeview Activity Center. 20 minutes.
Saturday, June 5th
11am: Hidden Cave Hike – Meet at the Lakeview Activity Center and hike with Naturalist Emilie to one of our lesser-known caves. Off-trail hiking involved, long pants encouraged. Rugged. 45 minutes.
1pm: Hamer Cave Hike – Meet Naturalist Chris at the grist mill in Pioneer Village to learn about the significance of this special cave. Stairs involved; Partially rugged. 30 minutes.
1pm: Endless Cave Tour – Must reserve spot in advance for this 2 hour off-site adventure into Endless Cave. $20 per person. Limited space. 14 years and older. For information email Sheree at sbelt@dnr.in.gov
2pm: Cave Dwellers – Join Naturalist Emilie to hear about cool creatures that live in caves. Take a trip through our pretend cave to see some of the creatures for yourself. Crawling involved. Lakeview Activity Center. 30 minutes.
3:30pm: Donaldson Cave Hike – Join Naturalist Morgan on a guided hike to the scenic Donaldson Cave. Meet near Sycamore Shelter. Rugged. 45 minutes.
Sunday, June 6th
11am: Cave Dwellers – Join Naturalist Emilie to hear about cool creatures that live in caves and how they affect our environment. Take a trip through our man-made cave to see some of the creatures for yourself. Crawling involved. Lakeview Activity Center. 30 minutes.
1pm: Endless Cave Tour – Must reserve spot in advance for this 2 hour off-site adventure into Endless Cave. $20 per person. Limited space. 14 years and older. For information email Sheree at sbelt@dnr.in.gov
