10am-4pm: Gus Grissom Memorial 50th Anniversary Celebration – A 10am ceremony kicks off our day full of special guests, speakers, time capsule program, guided tours, cake, and more.
10:00am: Welcome – Mark Young, Property Manager of Spring Mill
10:05am: Invocation – Sheree Belt, Interpretive Naturalist
10:07am: Pledge of Allegiance– Boy Scouts of America Troop 348
10:10am: A Few Words & Intro of Lowell Grissom – Dan Bortner, Director of the Department of Natural Resources
10:15am: Keynote Speaker – Lowell Grissom, Gus Grissom’s brother
10:30am: Time Capsule – Items placed today to be opened July 2071. – Sheree Belt
10:35am: Closing Thoughts—Dan Bortner
11:00am: Guided Tour of Grissom Memorial with Steve Grissom
11:00am: Cake sponsored by Friends of Spring Mill State Park
11am-2pm: Ryan Walters, author of Apollo 1: The Tragedy that Got Us To the Moon, available for book signing.
11am-2pm: Hoosier Hills Ham Club will be operating a special event amateur radio station, W9GUS, from outside of Gus Grissom Memorial
