Weekend Programs at Spring Mill

INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS

Friday, July 8th  

9 am: July Trail Challenge Series – Join Tony for a hike every Friday at 9am in July to complete all the trails in the park.  Earn your Trail Challenge Sticker.  Today’s hike is Trail 7 and Stagecoach Trail. Meet at Tulip Poplar Shelter.  Rugged.  1.5 hours.

2 pm: Hamer Cemetery Tour– Join Sheree at Hamer Cemetery to learn about the history of the Pioneer Village and some original settlers. 25 minutes.

Saturday July 9th

11 am: Lake Hike– Join Naturalist Morgan on a hike around Spring Mill’s lake while learning about the park and what you can find here. Lakeview Activity Center. Moderate, 1 hour, 1 mile.

6:30 pm: Muffins with the ManagerDo you have questions about our park and all of the projects happening? Join Spring Mill’s Property manager Mark for a question and answer session while enjoying a mini muffin. Campground amphitheater. 30 mins.

7 pm: Campfire Snake TalkJoin Naturalist Sheree for a campfire story while discovering more about our native snakes. Campground amphitheater. 30 mins. Live snakes will be present.

9:30 pm: Firefly Fun!– Meet Naturalist Emilie at Sycamore Shelter to learn about the insects that light up the night sky! 30 mins.

Sunday, July 10th  

10 am: Coffee with Cardinals-Meet Anthony in the lower level lobby of Spring Mill Inn (near the swimming pool) to observe native birds at our bird feeding area. Enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the birds courtesy of Spring Mill Inn. 1 hr.

2 pm: Turtle Talk– Join Naturalist Emilie at the Lakeview Activity Center to learn about turtles in the wild and hang out with our resident Red Eared Slider and Box Turtle while they get their outdoor exercise in our dig site. 25 mins.
