Horseback Riding

OPENING DAY

Spring is in the air and that means it’s time for some trail riding! Visit Midwest Trail Ride for their opening day. Please call for more information!

A note from the owners of Midwest Trail Ride:
Our reservation office will be staffed, but our store will remain closed during the mandatory “house arrest” (quarantine period). This gives us extra time to clean and sanitize (even though no one has been here yet) our shower house, activities hall & cabins.

RANCH PLAY DAYS

Midwest Trail Ride sits inside the Hoosier National Forest. It has a campground, cabins, horse stalls, an outpost store and easy access to trails. It’s great for campers, horseback riders and even boaters that are going to Monroe Lake. Join them for their Ranch Play Days featuring the fun activities below:

Ranch Play Days
This event is a fun way to get your horse used to cows if he has not seen them before. Participants do not
have to have a team; nor do they have to have experience! We will show you how. This is instructor lead, so
there will be an explanation at the beginning for everyone. Teams: You may bring your own team, if you do not
have a team, come by yourself and we will pair you up with other individuals.

Breakaway Ranch Roping
This event will give you the opportunity to try your hand at roping. No
experience needed! This is a non-competitive, fun event geared toward beginners, but all
levels are welcome! All ropes will need to have breakaway hondas. You do not have to be
entered in the Ranch Play Day to participate in the Ranch Roping, but you must register in
advance to participate in either event. We encourage everyone to bring their own ropes with
breakaway hondas.
