SPRING MILL STATE PARK

This weekend is full of fun at Spring Mill State Park.

 

Friday, December 13th

8pm:  Full Cold Moon Hike– Meet Anthony at the Grissom Memorial for a fun night hike. Experience nature after dark and learn all about the Full Cold Moon. 30 minute hike, .25 mile on accessible trail

 

Saturday, December 14th

1pm:  Lime Kiln Hike Meet our volunteer naturalist, Tony, at the Lakeview Activity Center for a hike a historical site on the property that few know about.  Hear about the importance of these kilns to early settlers.

45 minutes.  Rugged.

6:30pm:  2nd annual Glow in the Dark Night Hike: “Christmas Edition” – Start a new tradition with your family!  Join our naturalist on this fun 1 mile easy hike on Trail 7 that will be lit up for the night.  Free hot chocolate and cookies will be served to take on your hike.  Learn about creatures of the night and their winter survival skills.  Meet at Oak Ridge Shelter parking lot.

 

Sunday, December 15th

2pm:  Wine and CanvasJoin the naturalist for a winter nature painting.  Beginner painting with step by step instructions.  One glass of wine or sparkling juice with appetizers.  All painting supplies provided.  Location: Lakeview Room at Spring Mill Inn. $40 per person.  Must reserve spot by calling the Inn at 812-849-4508.  Limit 24 people.
