Spring Mill State Park offers fun activities all Labor Day Weekend! Check out the schedule below:
Saturday, September 3rd
9am: Mitchell Karst Plains Nature
Preserve Hike – Come learn why this
nature preserve is unique to this area. Meet
at Tulip Poplar Shelter. Easy hike. 45
minutes.
11am: Pottery from the Past- Join
Naturalist Paris at the Lakeview Activity
Center to learn about how pottery was made
in the past and make your own small piece
of pottery to take home. 30 mins.
11:30am-2pm: Archaeology Activities for
Kids – September is Archaeology Month
and Spring Mill’s history has led to
archaeological digs here. The program room
at the Lakeview Activity Center will offer
some hands-on experiences to help kids
discover more about this special field of
study.
6:30 pm: Muffins with the Manager- Do
you have questions about our park and all of
the projects happening? Join Spring Mill’s
Property manager Mark for a question-andanswer series while enjoying a muffin
provided by the Friends of Spring Mill State
Park. Campground amphitheater. 30 mins.
7pm: Campfire Snake Talk- Join
Naturalist Sheree for a campfire story while
discovering more about our native snakes.
Campground amphitheater. 30 mins. Live
snakes will be present.
Sunday, September 4th
1pm: Gus Grissom Tour – Meet the
naturalist at the Grissom Memorial for a 15-
minute tour followed by a 12-minute movie
about Gus Grissom’s life. See artifacts that
aren’t on display.
