WEEKEND INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS
Weekends at Spring Mill State Park are never boring! This beautiful park has so much to offer, with the historic Pioneer Village, 9+ miles of hiking, a beautiful lodge & a lake for fishing and kayaking with your friends.
Friday, July 9th
7am: Sunrise Stroll – Bring your Spring Mill questions while you hike from the Inn to Donaldson Cave, up the stairs and back to the Inn with Volunteer Tony. Meet at Inn front patio. 1 hr
11am: Trail 2 Guided Hike – Please join Chris at the West End of the Lakeview Activity Center parking lot for a moderate 1 mile hike to the Village Parking Lot and back to experience the beautiful landscape of our Park.45 minutes.
1pm: Magnifying Glass Activity -There is a whole world of tiny things out there! Let’s take a moment to study them. Meet at the Oak Ridge Shelter House for this fun activity and easy stroll on trail 7. Moderate. 45 – 50 minutes.
3pm: Glade Hike – Join Naturalist Emilie as she guides you through one of the most unique and important areas of Spring Mill. Meet at Donaldson Shelter Parking Lot. .5 miles.
Saturday, July 10th
2pm: Creek Stomp – Feel the cool spring water on your feet as you explore who calls this creek home. Meet Morgan by Pioneer Village Concessions (Ordinary). 30 minutes
11am: Trail 6 Hike– Meet Chris at the Grissom Memorial Parking Lot for an Easy Hike on this Accessible ¼ mile paved trail. We will enjoy the sights and sounds of nature while we learn some history about the Park. 30 minutes.
Sunday, July 11th
10am: I Spy A Lake Hike – Meet Naturalist Morgan for a game of I Spy around the lake. Recommended to children 8 or older, younger children may need adult assistance. Meet at Lakeview Activity Center. Moderately Rugged. 1 hour.
11:15am: Stagecoach Trail Hike –Meet Naturalist Chris at the village gristmill to experience this historical Stagecoach Roadbed. Learn the history of this feature and its connection to our beautiful village. Rugged, 1 mile. 45 minutes.
