Weekend Programs at Spring Mill State Park

INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS

Spring Mill State Park offers great interpretive programs! This weekend includes Childrens Weekend! Check it out:

Friday, August 12th

10 pm: Full Moon Hike– Meet Anthony at the Donaldson Cave parking lot for a summertime night hike under the Full Sturgeon Moon! Learn some full moon lore and experience nature at night. Hiking shoes and hiking sticks recommended, red flashlights will be available and are recommended. 2 miles. 1.5 hours. Moderate.

Children’s Outdoor Day!

Have you ever read our Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights? http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/7243.htm Bring your children to the Lakeview Activity Center on Saturday for loads of fun! Pick up a program schedule at the main gate, Lakeview Activity Center, or view the activities posted on the park bulletin boards. Activities are also online at www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/2968.htm

Sunday, August 14th

10 am: Coffee with Cardinals- Anthony is here to help I.D. some of the native birds that visit our bird feeding habitat! Join him in the lower level lobby of Spring Mill Inn (near swimming area) for bird observations and a cup of coffee courtesy of Spring Mill Inn. 30 mins.

11 am: Creatures and Features of Spring MillJoin Naturalist Emilie for a hike around Spring Mill Lake to learn about the many creatures that call this ecosystem home. Meet at the Lakeview Activity Center. Rugged. 1 hr.

2 pm: Make Your Own Nature JournalMeet Naturalist Paris at the Lakeview Activity Center to create your own nature journal to take with you on adventures. 20 mins.
