Spring Mill State Park offers great interpretive programs! Check it out:

Friday, August 26^th

11 am: Butterflies, Dragonflies, Pollinators, Oh my!– Meet Naturalist Emilie at the Lakeview Activity Center to learn more about the life cycles of butterflies and some of our other native pollinators. 20 mins.

Saturday, August 27^th

9 am: Trail 3 Hike– Meet Tony at Twin Caves Parking Lot for a hike on Trail 3. Learn about and see some plants that used to have or were thought to have medicinal value. 1 hour. Partially Rugged.

11 am: Turtle Talk– Meet Naturalist Paris at the Lakeview Activity Center to learn about Indiana’s native turtles and meet our resident box turtle. 30 mins.

2 pm: Leaf Print Painting– Join Emilie at the Lakeview Activity Center to learn about the trees of Indiana and create a masterpiece using the leaves from trees and other natural mediums. 30 mins.

7 pm: Snake Talk at Campground– Join Naturalist Emilie to discover more about our native snakes. Campground amphitheater. 30 mins. Live snakes will be present.

Sunday, August 28^th

11 am: Nature’s Architects– Meet Naturalist Paris at the Lakeview Activity Center to learn about one of Indiana’s semi-aquatic mammals. 20 mins.

2 pm: Old Growth Forest Hike– Join Naturalist Emilie for a hike through Donaldson Woods Nature Preserve and learn about the history and management of this special and unique portion of our park. Moderate. Meet at Twin Caves parking lot. 45 mins.
