WEEKEND INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS

Weekends at Spring Mill State Park are never boring! This beautiful park has so much to offer, with the historic Pioneer Village, 9+ miles of hiking, a beautiful lodge & a lake for fishing and kayaking with your friends.

Sunday, April 18th

1pm:  Vernal Pond Hike – Meet Anthony at the Donaldson Cave parking lot for a short hike to a hidden gem at Spring Mill State Park- a vernal pond. Learn why this pond is an essential habitat and how it connects with the Karst topography of the area. 30 minutes.

PARK ENTRY FEE MAY APPLY
$5 FOR INDIANA RESIDENTS
$7 FOR OUT-OF-STATE RESIDENTS

VIRTUAL STORY TIME

10am:  Virtual Storytime with the Naturalist #VirtualINStatePark – Enjoy a virtual story with the naturalist.  It will air on Facebook live on Wednesday, Jan. 13th at 10am: https://www.facebook.com/springmillsp/

Saturday, November 9th

7pm:  Full Beaver Moon Hike – Take a fun night hike on Trail 5 with Anthony to learn about the Full Beaver Moon.  Meet at the Lakeview Activity Center.  Flashlight and good hiking shoes recommended.  Moderate 1 mile hike; 1 hour

 

Sunday, November 10th

2pm:  Wine and CanvasJoin the naturalist for a fall nature painting.  Beginner painting with step by step instructions.  One glass of wine or sparkling juice with appetizers.  All painting supplies provided.  Location: Lakeview Room at Spring Mill Inn. $40 per person.  Must reserve spot by calling the Inn at 812-849-4508.
