WEEKEND INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS

Weekends at Spring Mill State Park are never boring! This beautiful park has so much to offer, with the historic Pioneer Village, 9+ miles of hiking, a beautiful lodge & a lake for fishing and kayaking with your friends.

Saturday January 9th
1pm:  Hidden Cave Hike – Take a guided hike to an unknown cave on the property.  Meet at Twin Caves’ parking lot.  Short, easy off trail hike.  30 minutes.

 Sunday January 10th
1pm:  Winter Wildlife Hike – Meet Anthony at Oak Ridge Shelter for an easy hike on Trail 7 to learn about the wildlife that calls Spring Mill home and how they adapt to the cold winter months. 1 hour, 1.75 miles

PARK ENTRY FEE MAY APPLY
$5 FOR INDIANA RESIDENTS

Sunday, December 20th

1pm:  Winter Solstice Hike –  A long walk on a short day.  Meet Tony at Twin Caves’ parking lot. Trail 3 – 2.5 miles.  90 minutes.  Partially rugged.

Saturday, December 12th

1pm:  Cave River Valley Hike – Come explore this beautiful, primitive property managed by Spring Mill.  Meet Tony at Donaldson parking lot and car pool 15 miles to CRV.  2 hour hike. Very Rugged.  Boots recommended.

6:30pm:  3rd annual Glow in the Dark Night Hike – Start a new tradition with your family!  Join our naturalist on this fun 1 mile easy hike on Trail 7 that will be lit up with battery operated candles for the night.  Learn about creatures of the night and their winter survival skills.  Meet at Tulip Poplar Shelter.

 

Sunday, December 13th

1pm:  Limestone Hike – Discover what the geology of Spring Mill tells us about the history of this area.  Meet Anthony at Spring Mill Inn front patio.  Partially rugged hike on trails 1 and 4; 45
