Celebrate #GetMovingMonday by taking a hike in the beautiful Lawrence County. A special “Thank You” to Spring Mill State Park and the Bedford Hiking Club for helping us celebrate!

Donaldson  Hike
Join us on this beautiful hike through the woods of Spring Mill State Park. Along the way, listen to the sounds of the creek, birds and squirrels. Check out the fascinating Donaldson Cave and learn all about the Scottish man that it’s named after. CLICK HERE for more information.

Milwaukee Hike
The Bedford Hiking Club is planning to take an approximately 1.5 hour hike along a little trail that some people may have never seen. Meet them at the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County on the west side by the Armory. From there, you will be walking along a pretty trail that leads to the Milwaukee Trail. CLICK HERE for more information.

Celebrate #WaybackWednesday with us here in Lawrence County and experience the rich history that we house.

Lawrence County Museum of History
This special museum resides in a 100-year-old limestone building and holds exhibits and artifacts precious to Lawrence County history. Inside the 2,400 sq. ft. gallery, you will see limestone exhibits and artifacts with carvings from local artisans, as well as, a wide array of memorabilia and historical lore from the region.

Spring Mill State Park
Pioneer Village – Restored in 1914, the settler village features over 20 historic buildings to explore. The Grist Mill, powered by water, still works today, and if you visit upstairs, you will find 1800s memorabilia.
Grissom Memorial – Mitchell native, Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom was one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts. The exhibit features the Molly Brown spacecraft, his space suit and many other artifacts from his early life to his time at NASA.
