WEEKEND INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS

Weekends at Spring Mill State Park are never boring! This beautiful park has so much to offer, with the historic Pioneer Village, 9+ miles of hiking, a beautiful lodge & a lake for fishing and kayaking with your friends.

Saturday, April 24th

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION!

10am- 4pm:  Earth Day Activities – Come join the naturalists for fun games, activities, crafts, programs, and hikes all about our earth.  Lakeview Activity Center.

Lakeview Activity Center:
?10am-3pm: Borrow a fishing pole – Free fishing for ages 17 and under.
?10am-10:30am: Make a bird feeder (peanut butter)
?10:30am-11am: Seed planting
?11am-11:30am: Composting Activity
?11:30am-12pm: Nature Collage

9am:  Cave River Valley Hike – Meet Tony at Donaldson Cave parking lot to follow your guide in your vehicle15 miles to Cave River Valley Natural Area.  Wear waterproof boots.  Very Rugged.  2 hours.

8pm:  Full Moon Hike –  Meet Anthony at Donaldson Cave parking lot for a spring time night hike under April’s full moon, known as the “Full Pink Moon”. Learn some moon lore and hear about Spring Mill’s nocturnal animals.  Moderate hike on trail 7.  2 miles.

Sunday, April 25th

11am:  Wildflower Hike – Spring flowers are blooming!  Enjoy a guided hike with the naturalist to take in all the beauty.  Meet at Lakeview Activity Center.  1 mile.  Partially Rugged.  45 minutes.
