Things to Do

Carousel Winery has invited Lawrence County Historian, Ron Bell, to be the guest speaker for this very unique event.

Not only will Bell be sharing his knowledge of this area before Indiana became a state, he will also be going on a very interesting discovery mission with us!

Apparently, The Lost School #7 was located right on the property that Carousel Winery sits on today. According to some early 1800’s maps, it is possible that the foundation of the old school could still be found.

… Challenge Accepted.

Bring your metal detector and hiking boots, and prepare to drink some of your favorite Carousel wine!

Before the hike, enjoy a meal from the “ol’ days”: beans, cornbread and our favorite… PERSIMMON PUDDING!

“Midwest Station is a bluegrass band from Whitehall, Indiana. With ages ranging from 22-65, they bring a tasteful balance of old and new style picking to the table. They are a hard driving band that delivers high energy performances on whatever stage they play.

Jimmy Martin, Ralph Stanley, Bill Keith, and Jerry Douglas are just a few of the band’s influences. Together, guitar player Darrel Bush, mandolin player John Pfaff, dobro player Austin Heckelsberg, bass player Mitchell Chadwell, and banjo player Mark Sampson can’t help but to bring audiences to their feet!”
